Indian National Congress·Rajya Sabha MP from Karnataka
Who he is
Close to two decades in the Congress organisation, and a parallel career in education. This is the background he brings to the seat, set out plainly for anyone who wants to check it.
Mansoor started in the mid-2000s as a block-level Congress worker in Bengaluru. Over close to two decades he worked up through the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee: its minority department, a secretary’s charge over the Mandya, Malavalli, Maddur and Channapatna segments, the Research Department he ran, then the Communications Department. Today he is a Secretary of the All India Congress Committee.
He contested Bangalore Central in 2024. The campaign surfaced serious problems in the constituency’s voter rolls, centred on Mahadevapura, and helped make the scale of the problem clear to the party leadership. Rahul Gandhi took it national, where it became the Vote Chori campaign.
As an AICC Secretary he was the party’s in-charge for Telangana, and since August 2024 for Kerala and Lakshadweep. The Congress won both. He was part of those winning structures.
Outside politics, Mansoor’s working life has been in education. He founded School of India and has spent that career as an educator, on school boards and in industry associations. He holds a BBM and an MBA from Bangalore University.
